The term 'Interfund Borrowing ' as it applies to the area of Medicare in the United States can be defined as ' The borrowing of assets by a trust fund (OASI, DI, HI, or SMI) from another of the trust funds when one of the funds is in danger of exhaustion. Interfund borrowing was authorized only during 1982-1987'.
